This is the best pizza in Northern Bergen County. Nice BIG slices in house, crispy crust, sauce and cheese just as they should be NY style.
If ordering delivery (which is usually within 25-40mins) - make sure you say crispy crust - it can arrive to your door too moist otherwise, and thus hard to eat.
The margherita pizza is excellent as well as the peppers and onions, meatball, pepperoni, and sausage.
But don't just try the pizza - the entrees are delicious too! Family favorites in our house are Penne A la Vodka and the Spaghetti w/White Clam Sauce. You will be surprised how good it is - better than some "classy" restaurants that will charge you double for the same.
It's a shame some people are scared away from this place because of its location or "look." Sure it needs updating, but you're not eating the decor! -

The pizza is really bad in Closter for some reason, and Carmine and Ray's is no exception to that rule. There is no customer service at this place, and I have seen some unsanitary actions from the guys behind the counter.
From using their bare hands to handle dirty cash payments directly on to prepping the food without washing them or putting gloves on. They put cold pepperoni on a pizza that has already been cooked because they forgot to add it on before they put it in the oven. They pick up cheese that slid off a too-hot pie with these dirty hands and put them back on the pie for it to re-settle before feeding it to customers. If you didn't see them do this, you would never know! People like this will most likely not wash their hands after using the bathroom. -

Their pizza is good and the size of the slices are huge!!! I can never finish a whole slice. Tbh i wish they were smaller. It gets a bit overwhelming. They are on the pricey side because of the size. Their pastas are good too.

Great staff and decent prices for what you get. I got the baked ziti slice and my friend got the BBQ chicken. Slices are $4 and change. It's definitely a great place to go when you don't want to spend a lot of money and get a big slice of pizza to hold you over. I definitely enjoyed it, but I've had a lot better pizza in Bergen county.
